About Apple Tree
Malus domestica, commonly known as the apple tree, is a deciduous tree in the rose family best known for its sweet, pomaceous fruit, the apple. It is cultivated worldwide as a fruit tree, and is the most widely grown species in the genus Malus. The tree originated in Central Asia, where its wild ancestor, Malus sieversii, is still found today. Apple trees are large if grown from seed, but small if grafted onto roots (rootstock). They blossom in spring with flowers that are white with a pink tinge that gradually fade. There are more than 7,500 known cultivars of apples, resulting in a range of desired characteristics.

How to care for Apple Tree
Water
Apple trees need regular watering, especially during their early years and in dry periods. Aim for about an inch of water per week, either from rainfall or supplemental watering. Over-watering can lead to root rot, so ensure good drainage.
Light
Plant apple trees in a location with full sun to ensure healthy growth and maximum fruit production. At least six hours of direct sunlight per day is ideal.
Nutrients
Apple trees benefit from annual fertilization, particularly using a balanced NPK fertilizer in spring. Additional potassium can help improve fruit quality, while phosphorus supports root development. Avoid over-fertilizing as this can lead to excessive leaf growth at the expense of fruit production.
Temperature
Apple trees prefer temperate climates with chilling hours below 45°F (7°C) in winter to break dormancy, and moderate summer temperatures to develop fruit. Avoid planting in areas with extreme winter cold or very high summer temperatures.
