How to care for Brazilian Jasmine

Water

Water thoroughly but infrequently, allowing the top inch of soil to dry out before watering again. Reduce watering in the winter months. The plant prefers consistent moisture but does not tolerate waterlogged conditions.

Light

Place in a location where it can receive full to partial sunlight. While it can tolerate partial shade, more abundant blooms are produced when the plant is exposed to full sun for at least 6 hours a day.

Nutrients

Feed your Mandevilla sanderi with a high-phosphorous, water-soluble fertilizer every two weeks during the growing season. Reduce feeding to once a month during the winter when growth is slower. Avoid over-fertilizing, as this can lead to salt accumulation in the soil which may damage the plant.

Temperature

Mandevilla sanderi thrives in temperatures between 65-85°F (18-29°C). It should not be exposed to temperatures below 50°F (10°C) as it is susceptible to cold damage. In regions with cold winters, it is best grown as a potted plant that can be moved indoors.
