How to care for Corn Plant
Water
Water Dracaena fragrans when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch, approximately every week in warmer months and less frequently in cooler months. Ensure the pot has good drainage to avoid waterlogging, which can lead to root rot.
Light
Prefers bright, indirect light but is highly adaptable and can also thrive in low light conditions. Direct sunlight should be avoided as it can scorch the leaves.
Nutrients
Fertilize Dracaena fragrans every 6-8 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer) with a diluted, balanced liquid fertilizer. In fall and winter, reduce feeding to once every 2-3 months to prevent overfertilization and potential buildup of mineral salts.
Temperature
Dracaena fragrans prefers temperatures between 65-75°F (18-24°C). It can tolerate a range down to 50°F (10°C) but should be protected from sudden temperature drops and cold drafts which can cause leaf damage.
