Epipremnum aureum, commonly known as Golden Pothos or Devil's Ivy, is a highly adaptable and popular houseplant known for its heart-shaped green leaves with variegated golden-yellow patterns. It is a fast-growing vine that can thrive in a range of environments, often used in hanging baskets or as a climbing plant with support. How to care for Golden Pothos
Water
Water Golden Pothos when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch. Ensure thorough watering until water flows out of the drainage holes, but let the pot drain completely to avoid stagnation and potential root rot.
Light
Place in bright, indirect sunlight. Although tolerant of lower light conditions, its growth and the vibrancy of its leaf variegation will be optimized in well-lit environments. Direct sunlight should be avoided to prevent leaf scorching.
Nutrients
Feed Golden Pothos monthly during the growing season with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer diluted by half. In the winter, reduce feeding to every other month to avoid nutrient overload, which could harm the plant.
Temperature
Epipremnum aureum prefers temperatures between 18 and 24 degrees Celsius (65-75 degrees Fahrenheit). Avoid exposure to temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius (50 degrees Fahrenheit) as cold can severely damage the plant.
