Dracaena braunii, commonly known as Lucky Bamboo, is not actually bamboo but a species of Dracaena. It is widely cultivated as an indoor plant due to its minimal care requirements and aesthetic appeal. The plant features long, slender leaves that grow from a central stalk, which can be manipulated into various shapes such as spirals and braids. Though it often grows in water, it thrives in well-drained, rich potting soil, resembling its natural tropical and subtropical habitats in Africa. Lucky Bamboo is considered a symbol of good fortune in many Asian cultures and is popularly used in Feng Shui.

How to care for Lucky Bamboo
Water
If growing Lucky Bamboo in water, ensure that roots are submerged and change the water every two to four weeks to keep it fresh. For soil growth, water the plant when the top inch of the soil feels dry, ensuring consistent moisture without water-logging.
Light
This plant thrives in bright, indirect sunlight but can also tolerate lower light conditions. Harsh, direct sunlight can burn the leaves, whereas too little light can lead to leggy growth and poor health.
Nutrients
Lucky Bamboo requires minimal fertilization. A small amount of a water-soluble, balanced fertilizer can be added to the water or soil monthly during the growing season. Too much fertilizer can harm the plant, leading to leaf burn and poor growth.
Temperature
Dracaena braunii prefers temperatures between 65°F to 85°F (18°C to 29°C). It should be kept away from cold drafts and extreme heat sources, maintaining a steady temperature for best growth.
